Turn your Excel pricing sheet into a web configurator.
WorkbookAPI checks your Excel pricing model in the browser for free, with APIs and web forms for your configurator planned for early access. Dealers and sales reps need a quote without emailing sales ops.

Every option adds another quoting step.
A manufacturer or distributor may price products by size, finish, quantity, and dealer discount. Sales ops maintains the workbook. Developers need the same rules in a dealer portal or CPQ tool.
Why the usual options hurt
Copying the formulas into code means maintaining two pricing models. Running Excel on a server adds maintenance. Sending workbooks to dealers spreads old versions. Quoting by hand makes sales ops a bottleneck.
How it works with WorkbookAPI
Drop your pricing workbook into the free browser check. See which formulas compute exactly like Excel before planning the configurator.
Recalculate and save in Excel first. The report compares formula results for the saved inputs and shows differences.
Today, only the browser check is live. Configurator APIs and shareable web forms are planned for early access. Join the waitlist on the home page.
The planned workflow keeps pricing in Excel with sales ops. Updating the workbook will update the calculation behind the form or dealer portal.
Illustration: a cabinet dealer quote
A configurator could collect product choices instead of asking the dealer to edit a spreadsheet.
- Inputs: A 48-inch cabinet, oak finish, soft-close hinges, and 12 units.
- Outputs: Unit price, volume discount, and total quote from the pricing workbook.
This is an example workflow, not an existing dealer portal.
What is not supported
Macros/VBA, Power Query, pivot tables, what-if data tables, and links to other workbooks are not supported. Strict Open XML files are also unsupported. The report flags them.
FAQ
Can Excel be used as the pricing model for CPQ?
Excel can hold your pricing formulas and option rules. Check those calculations first. The planned API would provide the calculation step; your application would handle the wider CPQ workflow.
Can I turn an Excel pricing sheet into a web app today?
Not yet. APIs and web forms are planned.
Will sales ops need to edit code for a price change?
The planned workflow keeps the model in Excel. Sales ops updates the workbook, and the updated model supplies the calculation results.
Does my pricing workbook leave my browser during the check?
No. The workbook never leaves your browser during the check. Only anonymous totals are counted, never values, formulas, or file names.
